Commission C4 on World Heritage and Astronomy

 

Welcome to the website of the IAU’s new Commission C4, a Commission of IAU Division C — Education, Outreach and Heritage.

 

A new Organising Committee is in place following the 2018 IAU General Assembly in Vienna. It is as follows:

The Commission works on behalf of the IAU together with UNESCO to implement the Astronomy and World Heritage Thematic Initiative.

 

The Commission has five new Working Groups, as follows:

 

C.C4.WG1  WINDOWS TO THE UNIVERSE: HIGH-MOUNTAIN OBSERVATORIES, AND OTHER ASTRONOMICAL SITES OF THE LATE 20th AND EARLY 21st CENTURIES" (Joint with Commission B7)

A limited printed version will be available in the coming months.
